The first phase of enrolments for WFA Online High School for 2025 concludes on 15 December 2024. Enrolments re-open on 2 January 2025. Enrolments remain open throughout the year and each late enrolment will be individually considered and appropriately placed.
WFA Online High School is IEB-Aligned
Grade 7, 8 & 9
All subjects at WFA Online High School are compulsory unless the learner is eligible for a concession, based on the learner’s immigration status or barrier to learning.
English or Afrikaans must be taken at the Home Language level, with the second language choice offered at either Home or Additional Language level.
Grade 10, 11 & 12
Students at WFA Online High School will follow the IEB curriculum meeting Umalusi requirements, making our Grade 12 students eligible to write the National Senior Certificate.
Seven subject choices are compulsory.
English or Afrikaans is required at the Home Language level, with the second language choice offered at either Home or Additional Language level.

WFA Online High School’s Approach to Life Orientation
Learners at WFA Online High School are encouraged to become law-abiding, confident, productive, and caring individuals. This enriches their lives and those of others. WFA Online High School follows the IEB-aligned and compliant Life Orientation curriculum with an additional personal development program to enrich the topics.
Technology Requirements for WFA Online High School Students
A laptop with at least a 256gb hard drive, 8GB ram and an integrated (or separate) webcam.
A stable internet connection with an upload speed of ~ 5mb and a download speed of ~ 10mb (lower streaming rates may work depending on the stability of the line).
An A4 printer (black and white sufficient, though colour is recommended); a scanner isn’t necessary with recommended smartphone apps like Genius Scan (iOS) or Cam Scanner (Android) with their smartphones.

Available irrespective of a student’s location. Case studies are presented by individuals in the world of business, leading to successful interactions which support the learning experience.
Travel Learning
Learners who travel frequently for sport or cultural activties can progress in their learning without interruptions, provided the availability of internet. Learner-teacher time zone differences are also identified and adequately addressed.
Live Lessons
Our live lessons are conducted by SACE registered, qualified, IEB-experienced teachers, eliminating the need for tutors, extra lessons, and self-teaching. Assessments adhere to IEB requirements and undergo close moderation.
Inclusivity
Mental wellness is a primary focus at WFA Online High School. Our teaching environment accommodates students with health concerns, physical disabilities, and mobility challenges, ensuring that barriers to learning are adequately addressed in line with IEB policy.

Students and parents / guardians at WFA Online High School gain access to all school calendars, timetables, lessons, subject notes, and assessments. Our students’ progress and achievements can be actively monitored.

Class attendance is encouraged at WFA Online High School.
Our students are required to book their attendance for a class in advance. On occasion, students will be required to watch pre-recorded lessons, in advance so that the theory can be applied in case studies or exercises.

+ How much are the tuition fees at WFA Online High School?
The tuition structure includes a one-time placement fee of R1,500. The monthly tuition fees for the current enrolment year are as follows: R2,485 for Grade 7, R2,685 for Grade 8, R2,885 for Grade 9, and R3,085 for Grade 10, payable over 12 months. Please note that textbook fees are not included in the monthly fee.
+ When can I enrol my grade 7, 8, 9 and 10 child at WFA Online High School?
Intakes for students in grade 7, 8, 9, and 10 are scheduled to begin from 2025 onwards. We are currently accepting enrolments for these grade levels.
+ When can I enrol my grade 11 and 12 child at WFA Online High School?
Intakes for grade 11 students will commence from 2026 onwards, while intakes for grade 12 students will start from 2027 onwards. Enrolment periods will open in the year prior to the intake year.
+ In which languages are the subjects taught at WFA Online High School?
The subjects are offered in either English or Afrikaans.
+ Which curriculum are the subjects taught in?
Our assessments for grades 7 to 10 are aligned with IEB standards and are compiled and marked internally.
+ How are the lessons conducted at WFA Online High School?
Classes are held on weekdays between 08:00 and 15:00. Teacher-guided lessons take place on Microsoft Teams for 45 minutes, followed by a 15-minute break. These lessons are recorded for the student’s future reference.
+ What textbooks will I need?
The prescribed textbook list for each grade will be available by the end of November 2024, in both digital format (on Snapplify) and hard copy. Textbook fees are additional costs and need to be purchased or subscribed to by the parent or guardian.
+ How does online learning prepare my child for the workplace?
Tools like MS Teams and Zoom facilitate collaboration, while project management platforms such as Smartsheet keep teams organised and task-oriented. This fosters the development of self-discipline and the commitment necessary for independent work and timely task completion.
